Consumer Unit Upgrades

Recently Orrell Electrics have carried out several consumer unit upgrades and we have been amazed by the amount of faults we are finding on a daily basis.

Some of the better faults include, no earthing present in consumers installations, live ends on cables exposed and hanging in lofts, attics, sheds, garages etc.

During an inspection and test of a property we found some faulty reading on the socket outlets and after further investigation we discovered this behind one of the socket outlets



This was causing severe problems to the installation with constant tripping of the fuse protecting the sockets.

The customer was issued with an 'unsatisfactory' certificate as several issues with the electrics were picked up.
